The good news is the TransPac is taking shape and the countdown has begun!

Race Start July 12, 2008

 

 

The SSS board is sorry to announce that Phil MacFarlane was recently
involved in a serious accident.  Fortunately, he is a singlehanded sailor
and not one to give up easily, so he is on the road to recovery faster than
all the doctors would have predicted.  But unfortunately, he will not be
able to continue his duties as 2008 TransPac race co-chair.  His efforts to
this point have been tremendous and much appreciated and we all hope that he
will be able to join us in Kauai to still serve his post as Hanalei Harbor
Master: greeting all the finishers, escorting them to their safe anchorage,
and being the first to toast them with their beverage of choice for a job
well done.
